art for sale page has moved

Our ability to keep the art for sale page completely fell apart this year as Evan cannot work in html or access the site, and every time I'd have a new version he'd have more changes and sales for me to add in. So, I'm trying out a google doc page that he can edit every time he has an enquiry or sale without my help! Soon we'll add links....but that requires uploading which I still have to do. Go and check it out!

Milk and Cheese Mugs

They're here! For beer! Get used to it!

This brand new set of beer mugs features the beloved and terrifying dynamic dairy duo belting out more of their trademarked idiocy. It's probably funnier if you're drunk. Either way, the set is now available from SLG Publishing. These babies are perfect for either casual or intensive two-fisted drinking, and can easily be filled with whatever liquid refreshment you happen to prefer or have on hand.

Get them now, and you will have them soon. Delay that order, and you may wind up regretting it for the rest of your miserable days. And you won't be able to drown your sorrows with these lovely mugs. So there.

Milk & Cheese reviewed!

Plastic and Plush has a nice review (with lots of photos) up of our M&C vinyls. They gave them a very respectable score of 8.6 out of 10. We were pretty excited to see it pop up today, as P&P is probably our favorite toy blog.

The only thing I will disagree with in the review is on the accessories - we have had no trouble switching the accessories, our figures can hold either the bottle or the hammer with no trouble whatsoever. So do not fear, you can switch weapons at will. (I will have to agree about the board, it's a little wobbly and I'm not sure why; in the sculpt stage it fit perfectly. They can hold it, just not as well as the other weapons.)

new YGG! episodes next week!

Next week, four more new episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba! will be premiering on Nick Jr, and two of them have SMRG segments in them!

Super Martian Robot Girl in Do You Like My Haircut (a.k.a. "Harry Haircut" according to Emily) is in episode 111 and will be airing: 9/25 (Tuesday) at (I believe) 10:30 am.

Super Martian Robot Girl in Dance of the Cobra Man (a.k.a. "Snakey" according to Emily) is in episode 113 and will be airing: 9/26 (Wednesday) at 10:30 am.

I think both will be repeated in the afternoon and/or on Friday, plus they'll go into rotation after this.

Also -- if you are, or ever were, a ska kid or rudie....do not miss episode 112, which will air on Monday. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE. I MEAN IT.

Yo Gabba Gabba airdates!

We have a schedule for the first two weeks of YGG's airdates on Nickelodeon -- of course, that's starting this past Monday while we were still up in Toronto. The segment we worked on is the Super Martian Robot Girl feature and two of our episodes will be airing during the premiere period:

Super Martian Robot Girl in Jumbo Shrimp (a.k.a. Shrimpy according to Emily) is in episode 102 and will be airing: 8/24 Friday at 1 pm; and 8/30 Thursday at 1 pm.

Super Martian Robot Girl in Where's My Mama (a.k.a. Pink Baby according to Emily) is in episode 106 and will be airing: 8/28 Tuesday at 10:30 am; and 8/31 Friday at 1pm.

FYI: (mostly swiped from Evan) the YGG shorts were originally planned for live action, and the first few were shot as such. For the original live action version, we did the costume design for Super Martian Robot Girl and the comic book cover/panel art. For the animation: script breakdowns and storyboards by Sarah, character and background designs by Evan with Sarah's help, finished drawings by Evan, color by Sarah, flash animation by two small animation studios (and one big one - Shrimpy was done at W!ldbrain).

The Dark Horse Book of Monsters now in stores

The Dark Horse Book of Monsters, the fourth and final entry in DHC's horror anthology series, is now available at more well-rounded comic shops and bookstores. It features a twenty-page story painted by Jill Thompson and written by Sarah and I, "A Dog and His Boy", which continues the adventures of the supernatural-battling canines (and feline) seen in the previous three volumes. Two of these stories, "Stray", and "The Unfamiliar", have won Eisner awards, the former for Best Painted/Multimedia Interior Art, the latter for Best Short Story.

Other contributors to the Book of Monsters include Mike Mignola (who offers up a new Hellboy story), Kurt Busiek, Keith Giffen, Scott Allie and Gary Giann, who provides illustrations for a prose short story by long-dead English horror writer William Hope Hodgson.

The Dark Horse Book of Monsters is a 96-page hardcover which retails for $15.95, and is from the fine folks at Dark Horse Comics (duh).
